Turkey Tomato Pasta Sauce

Description
Lean ground turkey sautéed with onions, garlic, and tomatoes, simmered into a flavorful sauce. Mildly seasoned and nutritious, it's a lighter pasta option that retains all the satisfying tomato-beef sauce taste.
Ingredients
- 1 pound turkey italian sausage links, casings removed
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons olive or canola oil 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
- 1 cup loosely packed fresh basil, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano hot cooked spaghetti
- 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Directions
- In a large nonstick skillet, cook the sausage, onions and garlic in oil over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Add the tomatoes, wine or broth, basil and oregano; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes or until heated through.
- Serve over spaghetti; sprinkle with Parmesan.
