Description

This paneer sandwich is a really quick and easy sandwich to make for a filling snack.

Ingredients
  • 8 oz. paneer cottage cheese or 200 gm.
  • ½ green pepper finely chopped
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. green chutney
  • 2 tsp. butter or mayo
  • 8 slices wholewheat bread
Directions
  1. Crumble your paneer and keep aside. You can grate it too.
  2. Mix together crumbled paneer with chopped green pepper and spices. Taste and adjust seasoning if required.
  3. Prepare green chutney using cilantro leaves, mint leaves, garlic, green chillies, salt and lemon juice. Make green chutney like this.
  4. Keep aside.
  5. If using butter, melt it or bring it to room temperature so that it is easy to spread. You may also use mayo or cream cheese spread in its place.
  6. Choose thick bread slices. I have used wholewheat bread here. Multigrain bread, sandwich bread and others work well too.
  7. Spread butter on one slice and green chutney on the other.
  8. Carefully place the paneer mixture on top of the slice. Close the sandwich with the other slice.
  9. Heat a grill. Spray oil if needed. Place your paneer sandwich and grill for 3 minutes till done.
  10. Heat a skillet. Brush with oil or butter.
  11. Please the sandwich and toast both sides till crispy. Serve hot.
  12. Preheat air fryer at 360F or 180C for 4 minutes.
  13. For air fryer, spread butter or mayo on top and bottom sides of the sandwich bread as well. This helps in golden brown colour while air frying.
  14. Place paneer sandwich in air fryer.
  15. Air fry at 360F or 180C for 6-8 minutes till the sandwich is nicely browned. Enjoy your paneer sandwich.
