Ingredients
- 4 portobello mushrooms
- 1.5 tsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. italian seasoning
- ½ tsp. cayenne optional
- ½ tsp. pepper
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. cilantro or parsley chopped
Directions
- Clean each portobello mushroom by using a damp cloth or paper napkin and wiping with it on both sides.
- Set aside.
- Mix together the marinade ingredients. Add oil, soy sauce, vinegar along with the spices and mix well.
- Using a brush apply the marinade on both sides of the portobello mushrooms.
- Meanwhile, pre heat air fryer at 360F or 180C for 4 minutes.
- Carefully place the mushrooms with their gills side facing up in the air fryer. I could fit four in mine.
- Air fry for about 6 minutes till the mushrooms are cooked.
- There is no need to flip them during the air frying time.
- Since I had one portobello mushroom that was smaller than the other three. I removed it after 5 minutes of air frying time as it was perfectly done.
- The others were cooked for a minute more.
- Carefully take them out in a plate and serve hot after garnishing with chopped cilantro or parsley.
- You can also slice them and serve or use them in wraps or burgers.
- This is a winner recipe and you would love to make it again.
