Air fryer Portobello Mushrooms

These delicious portobello mushrooms in air fryer are ready in under 15 minutes. They make for a fantastic side and can be used in burgers too.

Ingredients
  • 4 portobello mushrooms
  • 1.5 tsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp. cayenne optional
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. cilantro or parsley chopped
Directions
  1. Clean each portobello mushroom by using a damp cloth or paper napkin and wiping with it on both sides.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Mix together the marinade ingredients. Add oil, soy sauce, vinegar along with the spices and mix well.
  4. Using a brush apply the marinade on both sides of the portobello mushrooms.
  5. Meanwhile, pre heat air fryer at 360F or 180C for 4 minutes.
  6. Carefully place the mushrooms with their gills side facing up in the air fryer. I could fit four in mine.
  7. Air fry for about 6 minutes till the mushrooms are cooked.
  8. There is no need to flip them during the air frying time.
  9. Since I had one portobello mushroom that was smaller than the other three. I removed it after 5 minutes of air frying time as it was perfectly done.
  10. The others were cooked for a minute more.
  11. Carefully take them out in a plate and serve hot after garnishing with chopped cilantro or parsley.
  12. You can also slice them and serve or use them in wraps or burgers.
